If this doesn’t qualify as the, “rugged west”, I don’t know what does! Can you imagine trying to figure a way to drive your Conestoga Wagon to the other side? There is barely a place in this image that doesn’t look dangerous.
This is, of course, the view across the Grand Canyon, looking southeast from the North Rim towards the San Francisco Peaks on the horizon. I was captivated by the sheer ruggedness of this late afternoon scene. It looks like you could scrape yourself by simply touching the photograph.
We’re working on an Arizona/Utah adventure for next year where every day there are limitless possibilities for incredible photographs of the southwest!
