Flight

A Tricolored Heron takes wing. Birds can be some of the most difficult subjects to photograph. They act as if they don’t care that you are trying to capture a great photograph of them. They move around when you don’t want them to and they have no consideration about the light or background.

Still, they present a challenge that is always gratifying when we get it right (or mostly right). Certainly it pays to do your homework on the animals to be photographed. As subjects, they come in a countless array of shapes, sizes, color and attitudes and they are endlessly fascinating. That’s why we photograph them when we can.
