The Great Emptiness

Yes, this of course is Badwater Basin in Death Valley but the photo is really about empty space. One of our favorite places, this salt pan is always interesting. In this image, the crystalized salt patterns are visually leading us into the background through thin air and many miles to the horizon. Beyond that, through a quarter of a million miles of space is the Moon. It’s so quiet in this spot. There are no distractions. So much beautiful emptiness!

We will hopefully be going to Death Valley later in the year or the beginning of next year. Stay tuned!
