Out for a Stroll

A coastal Brown Bear and her two cubs take a foraging stroll along the coast of Admiralty Island, Alaska. The adults are habituated to seeing people and don’t associate us with food. This sow knows we are there but ignores us. Her cubs, like kids everywhere, are curious about everything! All Photographs © 2020 Sharon Lobel Photography or John Grusd Photography. Early Autumn

In Alaska, the fall colors don’t need to wait for autumn. This is late summer and the trees are in full color around Otto Lake near the foothills of the Alaska Range. All Photographs © 2020 Sharon Lobel Photography or John Grusd Photography. All Rights Reserved.

Yellow Bellied

A Yellow Bellied Marmot pops out of its den to watch me walk by. These curious critters are infamous for gnawing through tents or the rubber hoses under the hoods of cars. I encountered this fine specimen and its mate along a trail in Sequoia National Park. – JG All Photographs © 2020 Sharon Lobel Photography or John Grusd Photography. All Rights Reserved.
